I was on that ship from 1986 to 1987
The residents are all multi-millionaires now.
I grew up right around the corner from Simon Pure, I remember the smell and I love beer still.
😢😢😢 not a soccer player 😊😊😊😊😊😊 a clown
My parents think I am stupid so i don't want to be a soccer player but a clown
Leo Buscaglia Was charismatic he brought positivity out of life rather than lingering on the negative. Sad that he's gone now met him talked with him and corresponded with him great humanitarian and teacher
Unhappy and somber places breed ill health, physically, mentally and otherwise. Amen! ❤
Itz never gonna stop.Itz a perpetual dump-n-run.Look out CNY with ur MICRON.
Had the pleasure of seeing him and hugging him twice. Miss him but still relevant.
Sadly most of these good folks who lived in Buffalo during the 30s and 40s aren't there anymore , most passed on .This video was make 30 years ago , how fast time flys ! I remember Buffalo well in the 50s , and a few memories from the 40s .
We had sex in the old mill.
I lived there from ‘71-‘80 in Griffon Manor which was the next block over from Love Canal. We used to practice baseball at 99th Street school and I recall black tar like puddles and thick goo sitting on top of the ground in the outfield. We didn’t know any better. The area was a kids dream growing up, so many fond memories and the all $hit hit the fan in ‘78.
.15 cents But I bet you could not even find a pennies on the ground or old purses WOW
😳2024 you might can get something for $1 Dollar tree is now $1.25 SMH
Places like this still exist all over the USA ! People need to wake up !
HOOKER CHEMICAL SHOULD HAVE BEEN HELD ACCOUNTABLE THE PPL PLEASE SOMEBODY TELL ME WHAT WAS THE RESULT WITH HOOKER
From what I understand hooker sold the land to the city of niagara falls for 1 dollar. In the papers of the transfer, hooker acknowledged that there were chemicals. The simple fact that the city knew of this when it was purchased meant that hooker chemical was no longer liable for any damages.
What about the ppl who lived in Griffen manor 😮
A bunch of hooligans getting bent out of shape about some benzene and coal tar.
What a cool concept 👌
I told my grandmother in the 70s that I didn't understand why anyone would go downtown. She told me that when she was dating my grandfather they would go to a supper club and then go ballroom dancing. She described it so magically that it gave me a new appreciate for both downtown and the young lovers my grandparents once were.
Pleeeease... I sottotitoli 😄♥️
I lived on 99th st. The circles ..Off Colvin Blvd. My mother passed away at 45 years old. I remember when I had rashes on my hands and feet. Dr McMahon gave me some cream for them. I figured he didn't know it was chemical burns..I do remember the smell.
Thanks Dad, RIp, I miss you.... for intoducing this wonderful man to me in 1991.... some of the best have gone and really miss you guys....Read all of Prof Leo's books....
Thank you ! Such a great history for the state of New York. I truly love this region of the state along with the local family histories. We need to stand our grand and collectively resist the insanity that's being imposed by the government.
Primera vez que lo escucho, amo sus libros que me enseñaron sobre el amor y la humanidad
The Manhattan Project's neverending legacy.
1990? ....... This place is amazing! Is this historic re-enactment village still operating? Open for business?
Buncha Criminals. Free Life Time Health Care for Every Inhabitant of Niagara County
What makes Lucca's reporting style so keen is his use of short, pointed questions. Too many reporters today love to hear themselves talk.
Older lady raises 7 kids in a house of that size? Yikes
Was Hooker Chemical ever held responsible?
Norma Rae, Mother Jones, Karen Silkwood: want something done? Give it to a busy woman. Wonder what Lois Gibbs is up to these days?
I'm reminded of a line in the movie, Tootsie, where Dustin Hoffman complains that nobody is interested in his screenplay entitled, Return To Love Canal. Little did I know people WERE actually moved back to Love Canal!
God I miss the '70s. Was everybody orange back then?
Love how 2 people are smoking cigarettes in lobby of building complaining about carcinogens
Nothing to see here people. Don't forget to buy your carbon credits the Government takes environmental issues seriously.
My Dad worked there and I am from Olean N.Y. Just south of there. It is on a fault, not a major one but a fault nonetheless. The town I grew up in was a superfund site. The whole of Western N.Y. needs to be dug up and cleaned.
Engineers knew that it was polluted. Our government is even worse today. Selfish and corrupt beyond belief
Congrats to Reading Rainbow PBS to win their first Emmy for Outstanding children's series. : )
@7:49 I love her passion! I can feel her pain and emotion, and her frustration!! If that mayor can’t feel it also, he’s not human!
Love this man and his work, far ahead of the game. Never liked games unless everyone wins love 🤍🪶🌬️
Loved this man tomorrow is his birthday 🎂 I wish he was still with us.

Home Sweet Home for Life
I am watching this after someone mentioned Love canal on the recent East Palestine train derailment.
Does anyone know if DNA was collected from the bodies???? My GGGgrandfather was with the NY Militia and never came back. He was sick and died in the Militia Hopital, probably from Typhus. Any clues or contact would be appreciated! Rich Barnum TN, USA
East Palestine brought me here
@2:29 I wonder what became of the 2 families that decided to stay.
Not sure but some new residents moved in. Now they are also complaining of health issues
Those accents are music to my ears
I can’t help but think of the Love Canal disaster as the aftermath of the train wreck in East Palestine OH unfolds meanwhile the government does nothing as the environment gets polluted & people and wildlife get exposed to known carcinogens.
